This week’s Host Feature highlights Rachel Ann Mullins, host of “No Filter Friday.” Rachel’s experience in the entertainment industry gives her a unique perspective on the stories we hear in the news about Hollywood, and she uses her show as a platform to share what’s really going on from the inside out. A new episode airs as a LIVE video on Facebook every Friday night at 8:30 PST on the Public House Media Facebook page, and releases on podcasting platforms the following day.
Rachel’s show, “No Filter Friday,” delves into content that is not for the faint of heart. As someone with access to the sources of the scandalous stories we hear in the news, she shares the details of what’s really going on with her listeners and viewers. Every episode is aired live from her Los Angeles home, so she shares a bit of herself in each episode. Her show is unique because it’s “the darkest, most serious show [on Public House Media] due to the subject matter,” and that’s no dramatization. Rachel brings her audience the honest descriptions of events that are only partially covered by the news.
As one among many hosts with Public House Media, Rachel Mullins is one familiar with the spotlight. She’s been modeling since she was 12 years old, and from there naturally fell into acting and producing as well. The actress, model, and producer loves working with a wide variety of people through the different aspects of the business. Though Rachel doesn’t have a specific role model, she does view others’ lives as business models. She says, “If they found a way to make it happen, so can I.” Since her days are filled with whatever activities she chooses, she makes good use of her time. Rachel balances business with pleasure, saying, “[I] do what I want every single day…” and sees no need to set specific activities for certain days of the week. She does, however, have a strong feeling that chunky peanut butter is the only way to go. “Anybody who chooses creamy,” she says, “is a heathen.” Well, consider me a heathen! More chunky for Rachel, I guess!
With what she is currently doing, Rachel is very happy and sees no sign of slowing down any time soon. Rachel wears many hats in Tinseltown, including acting, modeling, and producing. After 16 years of working in the fashion and entertainment industry, she offers this advice: “Be very serious about [your work]. If you don’t take yourself seriously, nobody else will. Be in it for the work, not the perceived glamour, and keep chipping away at it. Nobody can make or break you except yourself.” Some wise words, no matter what career path you’re pursuing, if you ask me!
Hosting a show like “No Filter Friday” is no easy task, but Rachel accomplishes it with poise. Her engaging personality draws her audience in, and each episode’s content brings the drama. As Rachel’s philosophy goes, “This Town Holds No Glitter.” We at Public House Media are proud to have Rachel as one of our hosts!
